Coffeecake Inspiration Wins Local Artist First Place

At July’s Santa Clara Valley Water Color Society exhibit, hosted at Hobee’s Montague, we enjoyed all of the artists’ inspired takes on our slogan “fast, fresh and friendly”. Can you tell why this painting – “Red, White and Blueberry” by Bridget Geiger – really caught our eye? (Hint: Look at the recipe in the right hand corner.) We are now the proud owner of this painting, which won first prize in the exhibition. Bridget is also offering signed giclée prints to any interested Hobee’s Fan. Message us for details. Hobee’s Montague Hosts Art Exhibition Thru August 2nd

Hobee’s Montague is honored to host the summer exhibit of the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society from June 29 – August 2. Local artists, including Hobee’s co-owner Peter Taber, are showing their colorful interpretations of the Hobee’s slogan “Fast, fresh and friendly!”. Customers have enjoyed viewing the installation, and several paintings have been sold.

Earlier in the month, the Society featured Peter Taber on the cover of its newletter. Check out the article to learn more about Peter’s fascinating bio which includes his early years in Hawaii, studies at the prestigious Berklee School Of Music in Boston and – of course! – his forty years at Hobee’s.

Love Hobee’s? Tell Us Why and Win a Prize!

We have been overwhelmed by the responses we’ve received to our special summer contest. We asked you to help us compile a list of the “40 Reasons We Love Hobee’s” and immediately received scores of responses ranging from hilarious to heartfelt.

The contest doesn’t get much easier: Tell us why you are particularly drawn to our funky little Silicon Valley chain. To be chosen as one of the 40 Reasons, you’ll need to stand out by being unique and descriptive. (Our very first entry, for example, was a “Hobee’s Haiku” about the Chorizo Scramble.) Three randomly selected entries from our list of 40 will receive one of the following grand prizes: a Hobee’s gift card in the amount of $ 200, $ 125 or $ 75. The remaining 37 selected entrants will each receive $ 20 gift cards.

Fill out a form at your favorite Hobee’s or on-line.

You’ll have thru August 31st to get your entry in. We can’t wait to publish our list, though choosing our winners will not be easy!

Say “Aloha” to Tropical Summer Specials

Summer is always one of our favorite times at Hobee’s. We roll out an extra dose of Aloha Spirit to our guests with festive decorations, fun promotions and great-tasting specials. Though lots of companies feature tropical themes, we have bona fide Hawaiian our roots: The Taber family lived on Oahu for several decades before moving to the Bay Area in the 1970s.

This year, we’re bringing back our ever-popular banana-toffee coffeecake. Enjoy 50% off your second gift tin of this decadent treat every Friday. Plus, receive a free piece of coffeecake on Friday if you wear a tropical print shirt. We’ve also added passion fruit mimosas to our adult beverage menu in addition to terrific tropical recipes like Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast Sandwich with salted caramel macadamia nut syrup, and the Waimea Salad with tender chunks of mahi mahi, grilled pineapple and mango sesame seed dressing.

Enjoy a taste of the tropics all summer long at your favorite Hobee’s!
